The CERT Brazos Valley conducted a CERT Crowd and Traffic Management Course on 6 November at the BVCOG. The course was attended by CERT team members from around the Brazos Valley region. The course instructed CERT methods on how to maintain traffic and crowd control techniques when supporting first responder agencies on larger incidents. The CERT Brazos Valley program would like to give a special thanks to Mr. Bryan Carlisle, Director of Safety and Risk Management of Blinn College for instructing the course.

ATTENTION CERT members in the Brazos Valley Region: The Harris County CERT program has now released their annual logo for the FY2025 CERT Rodeo. The CERT Rodeo is an annual event where local CERTs in the Harris County region compete against each other based on CERT functions such as light Search and Rescue, emergency medical procedures, basic fire extinguisher operation and more. The Brazos Valley Council of Government will be sending a Liaison to this event to better understand how to implement a similar program in the Brazos Valley. Brazos Valley Community Emergency Response Team (BVCERT)
The Brazos Valley Community Emergency Response Team (BVCERT) is a regional Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program established in 2002, with a focus on preparing citizens to help themselves and their neighbors in a disaster Like Hurricane Harvey. We have trained numerous teams with hundreds of members. We cover the 7 counties that make up the Brazos Valley Council of Governments, Brazos, Washington, Burleson, Robertson, Leon, Madison and Grimes. The CERT basic Course teaches Disaster Preparedness that includes a free disaster response kit. Remember in a disaster our first responders may be delayed and if you chose to, you could be called on to help, will you be ready?
