Notes from a Sunday: This mug was a gift from a friend who noted how much I liked it when we were shopping in Lake Placid one afternoon. I learned a number of important lessons while camping in the Adirondacks that summer: I have excellent friends; “waterproof” is a relative term; and no matter how many times I go kayaking, I will never stay dry.

I’m not a fan of the beach, mainly because I burn to a crisp within 10 minutes of sun exposure, even with sunscreen. But I love walking in sand and being near water, so I think this still counts?

Flowers in vases are always in style.

I like to call these cards “Shimmerfish.” They are made with a metallic sapphire powder that glitters when you hold the card up to light, perfectly evoking the movement of a school of fish.
