“Now, dear brothers and sisters, regarding your question about the special abilities the Spirit gives us. I don’t want you to misunderstand this. You know that when you were still pagans, you were led astray and swept along in worshiping speechless idols.

So I want you to know that no one speaking by the Spirit of God will curse Jesus, and no one can say Jesus is Lord, except by the Holy Spirit. There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all.

There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us.

👉🏼 A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭1‬-‭7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

As I am sitting in my comfy chair with my heated blanket and coffee...fatigued and sore, pushing myself to work this morning I was reminded of this. So for those who are living with a chronic illness and need the reminder and those who are loving someone with a chronic illness.

Positive thinking and speaking life-giving words is soo soo important and can help you move through each and every day without giving up. However, being honest about where you are at and how you are feeling is also as important. Don’t sugarcoat it. Sometimes we just feel like p**p on a stick and no amount of worship music or positive words can change that reality and that’s ok too. I learned a phrase a years ago that has helped me so much....

Embrace the Suck, just don’t camp out and live there.

Spoon Theory Explained:
The “spoon theory” is a metaphor, coined by Christine Miserandino, that helps explain the limited energy and resources people with chronic illnesses or disabilities have to expend on daily tasks. It visualizes energy as a limited number of “spoons” available each day, which can be used up by various activities. This helps individuals, and those who are not experiencing chronic illness, understand the challenges of managing energy levels and the need to pace oneself.
