A couple weeks behind on posting these, but I made a trip up to the Foxburg/Parker area for some aerial photos. I was a day or two late on getting the huge ice jams on the river, but it was still interesting to see how things were coming out of the deep freeze there!

Cold, snowy, blustery days around Butler don't allow a lot of flight time for the drone.....but we managed to grab a few shots from around the Clearview Mall yesterday, 1/26/26.

There's definitely not much left on the site of the former Bantam building. Demolition seems mostly complete, aside from the smoke stack. Probably just some clean-up left. I still think it would be a good location for a local museum of sorts.....it could cover the Bantam company, Pullman, Armco, as well as other obsolete parts of the local area.

Finally had a decent day weather-wise towards the end of last week to get out and "stretch the wings" of my drone.....Caught a few early morning shots of the Butler valley with a morning fog working as a blanket. Missed the heavier stuff a bit earlier, but still managed to snap a few pictures. Taken from just south of the city on Thursday, 1/8/26.

Last week, I posted a few photos of Northwest Elementary School and asked if any of you had attended there or had memories of there. Many of you responded! One of our viewers on another page mentioned that he was reminiscing about the old Meridian Elementary School. So, this week, I thought we would take a look at some very recent aerial pictures of three former elementary schools from the Butler Area School District. These would be Meridian, Clearfield, and Oakland. Once again, I ask how many of you have memories or remember attending any of these schools, no longer in existence?

Northwest Elementary School from a few weeks ago......wondering how many of you went to school here or if any of you remember the building before the additions?

I had plans of taking the drone out this morning for some new photos, but all this cold weather and first snowflakes of the season kind of put a damper on that! So, I'll post a couple of photos from a few years ago instead......The former Butler Jr. High School Building, also known as the school surrounded by churches! (There were five churches in the immediate vicinity around the school.)
