A huge thank you to The Enclave at Cambridge for thinking of our community!

The Enclave graciously reached out to the Guernsey County Community Development Corporation and offered us their standing wardrobes and nightstands at no cost. Thanks to their generosity, we were able to assist in furnishing the Allwell Transitional Living Home with quality furniture that will help make it feel more like home for the individuals being served.

This is what community is all about. When local organizations support one another, we’re able to do so much more for the people who need it most. Partnerships like this make a real difference, and we’re incredibly grateful to work alongside businesses that truly care about our community.

Today is a special day at the CDC. Today is the day our employee Crystal, completed her Intervention in Lieu of Treatment and has officially paid her debt to society. Today she starts her life over without any barriers to housing or employment.

Today was her day.

But to get here Crystal had to be the one to make the decision to handle the rigors of the program. The program is not easy and it is not supposed to be. The program is designed to be intense and to keep the individual on the right path in life.

Today, in the Guernsey County Court of Common Pleas, Crystal recognized that fact. She thanked her probation officers for being hard and stern, but for also being fair. She understands that they are there because they want her to succeed.

Today, she thanked her friends and family for supporting her and for being there for her when she needed them the most.

Today, she thanked the CDC for giving her a job. Helping her through probation and the program and for providing her with a support system, especially when she needed someone the most.

Today, she thanked Judge Padden for the recognition she received in the courtroom and for giving her a chance on the program.

Today was her day and we are all so very proud of her.

Pictured with Crystal (left to right) is our Mobility Manager Kyra Glecker, who was actually Crystal's counselor at Guernsey Health Choices before coming to the CDC. Our Executive Director, Ron Gombeda, who created and implemented our INSPIRE program, which is our in-house workforce training program for individuals going through substance use disorder recovery and our Workforce Director Melissa West, who oversees the CDC's three workforce programs and plays a vital part in our participants success.

Today is Crystal's day, so please join us in congratulating her for an amazing accomplishment!
