Passing along practical nuggets of baseball information. Young players need to know where they stand within the sport they are playing.

When I hear dad’s brag about how tough they are on their kids (when it comes to baseball), I’m like, so f&@$in what. The game is tough enough. Do you think he’s striking out on purpose? Do you think he’s walking three consecutive, on purpose? This game is hard! It’s hard! It causes some of the best in the world, to doubt themselves.

Address their effort and focus - during practice. It’s a commitment from all parties involved. Don’t f&@$in bark at your player for messing up during the game. Bark at yourself for not understanding that, mistakes happen.

Get the proper training and remove yourself from the situation. Trust me, the rides home might become fun again.

Baseball is a game that requires us to build upon our failures. If we constantly revisit the failure, without addressing the source - there will come a point in time where there won’t be any games to go to. You’ll have a chance to yell at the guys in the TV League.

Keep the game fun and become a beacon of support. Don’t be the “what are you swinging at?” parent. Who wants to be around that person 💯😐

"How to Improve Hand Eye Coordination" Using a Tennis Ball 02/25/2019

Hand/Eye Coordination...

The really good hitters have very good hand/eye coordination...

As scouts we sometimes call it Bat-to-Ball Skills. Young players, the perfect swing is tough to attain (especially under game conditions), so let’s place a premium on consistent “hot contact”. When I scout the better HS hitting prospects, I rarely see them swing & miss vs other HS players, and they almost never miss the fastball.

Guys - play a little ping pong, hop onto YouTube and search for hand/eye coordination drills. Find ways to improve your Bat-to-Ball skills.

Have an amazing 2019 season!
