I love this organization and what they do for our community. If you get a chance, be sure to make it to Mount Pleasant Town Hall tonight for their second Light the Way for Hope event honoring those lives lost to overdose in our community.

Tomorrow, we encourage you to attend “Light the Way for Hope” held at Mount Pleasant Town Hall. Starting with free NARCAN training at 7 pm, followed by a luminary honoring and remembering our loved ones at 7:45 pm.

No one should stand alone in our fight to end overdose. While individual action matters greatly, coming together as a community creates a powerful collective action.

The weather downtown is improving, but now we are seeing the aftermath of Debby.
Last night an underground pipe burst causing this massive sinkhole on Romney Street between Meeting Street and King Street. Romney Street is blocked off. Officials are asking everyone to avoid the area if possible. The exit ramp off I-26 to Romney Street is still open but drivers will have to take Meeting or find an alternative route once exiting. Charleston Water System is here now evaluating the hole and working to clear it out so the pipe can be repaired. No word on when the street will be repaired but be sure to take caution and stay alert while out on the roads today!

Happy Friday 😍😍 we started the morning off with a VIEW. Does anyone have any fun weekend plans?

I hope everyone had a great weekend! My momma Wendy Kalinich Klein is in town visiting and I had to share the most amazing experience we had this weekend at Iron Rose Charleston in the Mills House Hotel!

For starters, the ambience and the food and drinks were absolutely off the charts. The restaurant itself is beautiful but what really made it was our waiter, Landon and Kristy the manager. They were so sweet and attentive to us and just made the experience overall a 10/10. If you’re in Charleston or ever happen to visit, the Iron Rose is a MUST. One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Charleston so far and so happy I got to experience it with two of my favorite people!

Berkeley Animal Center suffers severe overcrowding, needs help from community 06/21/2024

Berkeley Animal Center suffers severe overcrowding, needs help from community The Berkeley Animal Center is critically over capacity and desperately needs the community’s help.

*ANIMAL CENTER ISSUES MORATORIUM DUE TO OVERCROWDING*

Berkeley Animal Center is implementing an emergency moratorium on animal intakes to help with overcrowding. Until further notice, the shelter will only accept animals that are in danger or present a danger to others.

The Animal Center has had an influx of animals in recent weeks and is critically over capacity. In response, the shelter has extended its hours to 12:30 pm - 5:30 pm Tuesday - Saturday. The shelter is also offering a reduced fee of $20 for all dogs and cats six months and older; kitten adoptions are also half-off.

The shelter is urging the community to consider fostering or adopting. Anyone missing an animal is also urged to visit the shelter to determine if the facility is housing one’s pet.

“We have nearly 200 animals on our campus receiving care. We are overwhelmed and limited in space. We are grateful that anytime our shelter reaches out for assistance, our community steps up to do all they can. Please consider helping alleviate this critical situation.” – Heather McDowell, Berkeley Animal Center Director

Anyone interested in adopting or fostering can stop by the shelter, located at 131 Central Berkeley Drive in Moncks Corner. Fosters will be provided all necessary food and supplies for animal care. For more information, call 843-719-5050.

I mean LOOK at all these sweet faces 😭

I got to spend yesterday hanging out at the Berkeley Animal Center. The center is experiencing such severe overcrowding right now that they had to issue an emergency moratorium on animal intakes yesterday and can only accept animals now if they are in danger or present danger to others. They need your help so if you’re willing to volunteer, donate, foster or adopt, definitely consider doing so here. Tune in to my story this morning for all the info!
