Google is rolling out a new default setting that allows the company to store images, audio, video, files, and other media generated through interactions with Search, Maps, Shopping, Flights, Hotels, Translate, and News. According to Google, the data may be used to provide, develop, and improve services, including training artificial intelligence systems.
The setting applies to tools such as Google Lens, Search Live, voice search, and spoken queries in Google Translate. Users can opt out through the new “Search Services History” setting and disable “Save Media” to prevent certain types of content from being stored.
