Too beautiful not to share.

It’s easy to say “I don’t know what happened to us” or “how did we get here” in a marriage but sometimes it’s not one event or situation that caused the disconnect or loneliness. Sometimes it’s a series of seemingly small choices over time that hurt the most. There was a time in our marriage when we were prone to neglect the little opportunities that seemed unimportant but lead to both of us feeling alone and disconnected. We felt frustrated with each other but couldn’t pin point why. Once we did some reflecting we realized that it was the every day little opportunities to connect that we were letting slip through the cracks and we started to be more intentional in how we show up for each other whether it’s greeting each other at the door or simply putting our phones down to catch up on our days. Constant Netflix binge watching turned into deep conversations, laughing together more, and restored intimacy. Over time it changed us. It made us remember why we started and we began to show up in a more intentional way for each other. This is not to say you have to be off your phones and intentional 24/7 or that you have to do everything together, it’s just important to make sure that you are still making an effort to connect throughout the day. No matter where you are in your marriage, there is hope and our prayer is that this could be the gentle nudge you needed to start showing up in the little moments for your spouse because it matters. 🤍
