When itās nap time for baby sister Elizabeth always takes time to rest too. Sometimes she lays down, sometimes she reads and today she chose to write (the first time she read it to me it sounded a little different but just as interesting!)

After a long and wonderful summer of ballet camp and music, we hadnāt touched our math works in a while. Today, I remembered the importance of revisiting and refreshing our childrenās minds with things we assume they remember from 10 weeks ago. I dived into bringing the teen board out for Elizabeth only for her to stare at it like sheād never seen it before in her life. I held back the mama instinct in me to be like, āof course you know this work, weāve done it a million times!ā To instead recognize, as a Montessori guide, that we needed to scale back today. So, out came our much loved and used homemade sandpaper letters. She was so excited, she started by ordering them and then giving her baby sister a lesson on numbers 1,2 and 3 š¤
