July is Disability Pride Month and marks the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a landmark civil rights law that expanded opportunities and accessibility for millions of Americans with disabilities.

At Western Union Elementary, we believe every child deserves to feel welcomed, included, respected, and supported. Disability Pride Month is a reminder to celebrate the unique strengths, talents, and perspectives that make our school community stronger.

As we look to the future, let’s continue building school communities where every student, family, teacher, and staff member belongs and has the opportunity to thrive!

Next week, ALL children ages 18 and under can enjoy FREE healthy lunches through the USDA Summer Food Service Program at Atrium Health Union Women & Children’s Center.
