Khurtiss Perry is 6’3, 267 pounds and a 4-star Defensive Tackle for the recruiting class of 2022. When watching game film, the most reoccurring trend is that the young man has unreal explosion off of the snap of the ball. The explosion allows him to create pressures and sacks in the passing game and also disturb any type of movement and momentum in the running game. Whether in a two-point stance or three-point stance the young man takes powerful and meaningful steps off the snap of the ball with a low pad level allowing him to get underneath Offensive Linemen.

When closer examining Khurtiss’ pass rushing abilities, the speed allows him to create natural pe*******on, but also makes him a threat while running the bell curve. His fluid hips and athleticism make it easy to dip and rip past Offensive Linemen. Something to also take into consideration is the young man is not dependent on solely running the bell curve to create pressure; he does an excellent job of naturally reacting to what the Offensive Linemen makes available. Meaning as Khurtiss is beating Offensive Linemen with speed rush moves, the Offensive Linemen will make adjustments and either set more vertically or continue to kick off the snap of the ball to thwart Khurtiss. This creates an open lane for Khurtiss to redirect and since he is aware and a fluid pass rusher, he is able to exploit these opportunities. The icing on the cake is the young man does a superb job of jumping the snap count creating extra separation in his pass rush moves.

A valuable trait he has in rushing the passer and stuffing the run is his active hands, which helps him consistently disengage from Offensive Linemen. Switching gears to Khurtiss’ run stopping abilities, he has a compact punch, which earns him inside hands against Offensive Linemen. He holds the point of attack well and as the running back gets closer to the hole Khurtiss is able to disengage with his active hands and stuff the ball carrier. His pursuit is truly special, he is almost like a heat seeking missile. Since he is athletic and has good hip mobility, he can change direction with ease allowing him to close in on ball carrier quickly. The young man also does a great job defending the read option. Whether its hugging the hip pocket of the tackle, blowing up pulling guards or deciphering who has the ball, he excels in every facet. Khurtiss also has an undying motor. Gavin Sawchuk is 5’11, 175 pounds and a 5-star Running Back for the recruiting class of 2022. The young man has uncanny speed and blows past defenders with ease, but in the same token he has that “old-school” football mentality where he wants to punish defenders. I love it, one play he looks like a maestro cutting defenses apart with his speed and vision, looking magisterial and the next play he looks like a bruiser, bulldozing defenders.

In addition to the elite speed the young man has good agility and lateral quickness and you see it often throughout the highlights. When Gavin finds a sliver of daylight, he exhibits that quick burst of speed and he’s gone. He also does a superb job of identifying the cutback lane and has outstanding vision in the open field. It reminds me of someone playing chess who is always three moves ahead of their opponent. They’re patient, calm, under control and as soon as they see an opportunity to strike, they do so with such ferocity that the opponent has no chance.

Gavin also knows how to set blocks for his OL, which is such a valuable skill. When shifting focus a bit to Gavin’s physicality you notice quickly in the film that an arm tackle will never bring this young man down. He breaks through would be tacklers with ease, whether it’s a herculean stiff arm, an ankle breaking jump cut or a pay load delivered by a Mack truck, it takes multiple tacklers to bring this young man down. The young man can beat defenders with his speed or power making it a tough task to bring Gavin down in the open field. Tyler Booker is 6’4, 315 pounds and a 5-star Offensive Tackle for the recruiting class of 2022. When breaking down film the first things I noticed about his game were his movement skills and his strengths in pass blocking and run blocking. Whether he is down blocking, working a double team, reaching the DE or pulling, Tyler doesn’t waste movement with false steps and he stays within his base giving him the ability to quickly react.

When focusing on his movement skills in pass blocking its impressive. His pass pro and kick slide are beautiful, he covers ground so well that he can pick up a wide 9 edge rusher and a cat blitz from the corner with ease.

When taking a deeper dive and examining Tyler’s run blocking he does a great job of firing off the ball with good pad level, explosion, and powerful steps, which allows him to get underneath the DL. He also runs his feet on contact preventing himself from leaning while blocking. When he gets his hands inside, the DL doesn’t have a chance. Sometimes Tyler’s punch is a little wide and he doesn’t get the defenders breastplate, but because he is so athletic, he is able to recover and win the block. When he does get inside hands though, he is able to showcase a powerful punch that jolts DL and Tyler finishes the block. When he gets the defenders breastplate, he doesn’t allow them to disengage and make tackles because he runs his feet on contact. It’s also worth mentioning that he does a good job of blocking at the second level and taking the right angles to block linebackers.

Tyler is truly beyond his years in pass blocking…its impressive. He keeps his head out of the block and has superb patience. He has the lateral and vertical quickness to thwart speed rushes and the strength to withstand power rush moves like a bull rush. Again, he does all of this while keeping his head out of the block!
