For Meri Beaver, Food Program Manager at Cooperative Christian Ministry, one of the biggest takeaways from Impact Partners' Team Up training was learning how to better understand and communicate with the people around her.

When teams learn to speak each other's language, collaboration improves, relationships grow stronger, and organizations are better equipped to serve their communities.

Nonprofit leader, you are important and you have purpose.

When leaders have clarity about why they do what they do, it changes how they serve others.

Tyanna Van D**e serves as Housing Services Program Manager at Cooperative Christian Ministry, helping women and families work toward stability through transitional housing.

During a recent Team Up / Lead Up session, she shared how understanding her own purpose has helped her better serve the residents she works with every day.

Healthy communities are built by healthy leaders. Sometimes the most important work starts with stepping back, reflecting, and reconnecting with the reason we serve in the first place.

What helps you stay connected to your purpose?

Nonprofit leader, you are seen and your work matters.

Sometimes that is the most meaningful thing a leader can hear.

For Carey French, Founder and Executive Director of Resound Future Bilingual Educators Network (Learn & Play Spanish), one of the most impactful parts of Charlotte Next has been the encouragement that comes from being surrounded by other leaders who recognize and value the work happening across our city.

Leadership can feel isolating.

But when leaders come together to learn, grow, and support one another, something shifts. New vision, new confidence, and new opportunities start to emerge.

We're grateful to have Carey as part of the Charlotte Next cohort and excited to see how her work continues to impact bilingual students, future educators, and our community.

What has encouraged you most in your leadership journey?

What creates lasting change in a community?

Most people's first answer may be funding.

And funding matters. But over the years we've seen something deeper at work.

Healthy communities get built when leaders are developed, organizations are strengthened, partnerships are formed, supporters show up, and people commit for the long haul.

None of these work well on their own. Real impact happens when they come together.

Which one do you think gets overlooked most often? We'd love to hear your thoughts.

Over the last few years, we've had the privilege of sitting around tables with nonprofit leaders, church leaders, business leaders, philanthropists, and community partners across our region.

Not because they all do the same work. But because they all care deeply about making a difference.

Impact Partners CLT was built around a simple belief: community leaders need more than funding. They need encouragement, collaboration, healthy teams, and places to learn, grow, and be strengthened for the work they've been called to do.

When leaders become healthier, organizations become stronger. When organizations become stronger, communities flourish.

That's the work we're committed to. Not building a platform. Not building a brand. Building people.

As we meet together in the Charlotte Next cohort, we are seeing the power of being surrounded by other leaders who share a common mission: serving others, strengthening communities, and following the calling God has placed on their lives.

We're grateful for leaders like Theo Facinoli with Out of the Ashes Foundation and the many nonprofit leaders across Charlotte who keep showing up, serving faithfully, and investing in the health of this city.

What role has community played in your leadership journey?

Healthy leadership starts with knowing how you're wired to serve.

Not trying to lead like someone else. Not filling every gap. Just growing in self-awareness, humility, and purpose and letting that overflow into the people and organizations around you.

That's why spaces like Charlotte Next matter.

Leaders from across Charlotte showing up, learning from each other, discovering their strengths, and building healthier organizations that actually serve this city well.

We're especially grateful for leaders like Bella Miller from Project 658 and the many others who keep investing in Charlotte through collaboration, faith, and the long game of leadership development.
