This was such a cool experience! At the end my face hurt from smiling so much!

Everything you need to know about Rail Explorers in Boone, Iowa:

🚂 This was seriously one of the coolest experiences I have had in the Midwest
🚂It is about a half hour from Des Moines, Iowa
🚂Kids can do it! One woman in our group even wore her baby for it!
🚂The engine is pedal activated with a motor. One person needs to be over 16 and able to pedal but everyone else can just ride (or pedal if they want). The motor does most of the work so it wasn’t a workout.
🚂It was $175 for a quad bike cart. If you went with a group, it would be about $45 per person.
🚂It was a 12.5 mile ride, about 6 miles out, a rest in between, and 6 miles back.
🚂You go over two trestle bridges. That was my favorite part!
🚂It takes about 2 hours.
🚂Buy your tickets well in advance. Fall is an especially popular time to go and it is already completely booked.
🚂This is about 3.5 hours from Kansas City.
