Morning weeding in a Chattanooga meadow.

Here's a client's meadow one year following seeding. This section is loaded with the grasses Little Bluestem, Splitbeard Bluestem, and Side oats Grama. Wild Blue Indigo and Wild Bergamot just finished their show. Glade Wild Petunia and Rough Blazing Star are popping now followed by Aromatic Aster and New England Aster for the finaly. As you might guess, this section is purple themed.

While visiting we had goldfinches enjoying the seed of Coreopsis in the morning and hundreds of dragonflies hovering in the heat of the day.

Finishing up today at the slope below the Hunter Museum! Several homes and terraced gardens were present here in the older days of the city. It's a great joy to bring some of that spirit back to the site....a very difficult one indeed. We look forward to seeing it mature!

Plant highlights:. Ostrya virginiana, Juniperus virginiana 'Canaertti', Juniperus 'Grey Owl', Rhus aromatica'Gro-Low', Robinia hispida, Yucca filamentosa, and hundreds of native grasses and flowers.
