I wrote this day, in thinking about how “protect your peace” gets tossed around.
The easy, superficial is tossing away anything that is uncomfortable.
People places or things.
The deeper piece of this work is an inside job.
It’s knowing when to release and let go.
🌼•••••••••••••••🌼
protecting your peace
is more about guarding the piece of you
that stays steady when everything seems
to be coming apart.
not avoiding life.
not cutting people off.
not leaving conversations when they get hard.
the peace to be protected is not seen.
it’s the steady inside when there’s
tension in the room.
it’s not letting every opinion
pull you into a reaction.
it is also choosing where your
emotional energy goes.
recognizing environments that drain you.
knowing when to let go.
leaving when the emotional business is finished
not because it got uncomfortable.

Sometimes things loudly fall apart
and they are built back stronger.
But they don’t always have to fall apart.
Or have a dramatic ending.
Or a dramatic rise from the ashes
to affect change and begin something new.
Sometimes the shift begins quieter
With just a knowing in your spirit
that something has to be different.
That life needs to change.
That life just. can. not. stay. the. same.
The shift begins with small choices
and quiet moments
and staying open to what needs to be.
Awareness. Growth.
Not always getting it right.
But always doing the next right thing.
Not everything meaningful
has to explode to bring change.
Dramatic new beginnings
can begin
quietly.
Here’s permission
to change your life dramatically.
Or continue with the quiet moments
that bring the change.
Loud. Dramatic.
or
Quiet. Confident.
Just doing the next right thing.

Firat shared 2014:
Thought.
Most of the time we’re prideful arrogant jerks...judgmental, hypocritical, and legalistic
while claiming to follow a Jesus who is forgiving, authentic and loving.
