One of the biggest lessons from my 20-year marriage was learning how strong I could be when I had no choice but to rely on myself to provide, to protect my children and keep going.

While I was still legally married, my children’s and my health insurance was cut off. At the same time, I was left responsible for medications, doctor visits, sports injuries, surgeries, food, and every day-to-day need that comes with raising children. For two years, I put their health before my own because I simply didn’t have the resources to do both.

Three weeks ago, I finally had the opportunity to focus on myself and was shocked to learn I was pre-diabetic.

Ironically, the day before that diagnosis, I had already returned to the same lifestyle changes that helped me beat Stage 2 cancer 18 years ago.

Why am I proud of these results? Because they remind me that no matter how much stress, loss, or adversity you face, it’s never too late to choose yourself.

I share this because many women are quietly carrying responsibilities they were never meant to carry alone. Keep going. Your health matters too.

God carried me through the last two years, and today I’m healthier, wiser, stronger, and still smiling.

This video from December 15, 2025, is proof that when you pray and replace fear with faith, blessings can exceed anything you imagined.

For the safety of my family, I had to keep certain blessings private. Only now can I share this story.

When my children and I moved from warm Memphis to Illinois, we had places to live, but we lacked winter coats, boots, clothing, and other essentials needed to survive an Illinois winter. I didn’t know how everything would work out, but I believed—200%—that it would.

And it did.

An anonymous church, whose identity I still don’t know, blessed our family beyond measure. Under that Christmas tree were winter clothes, wellness items, essentials, and gift cards for groceries, shoes, and my children’s sports needs. Through the kindness of people we may never meet, God provided for nearly eight months.

To that church: thank you for changing our lives. To my best friends, family, and children: thank you for staying strong through one of the hardest seasons of our lives.

Today, we’re not just surviving—we’re thriving.

The greatest gift that Christmas wasn’t under the tree. It was the love and compassion surrounding my children every day through family and friends who supported and poured into us. This was the life I always wanted for my children, and God allowed us to leave behind, what was taking the life and joy out of our spirit.

Sometimes faith means taking the next step before you can see the staircase—not blindly, but knowing deep in your spirit that everything will work out. Provision often arrives in ways you never expected.
