During the filming of *Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides* in the chilly, rain-soaked conditions of Britain, Johnny Depp made a remarkably thoughtful gesture toward the crew.

Wanting to keep everyone comfortable, he personally purchased 500 waterproof hiking jackets — an expense of about £40,000 — so that the team could stay warm and dry throughout the shoot.

One crew member shared, “Johnny bought each of us a proper warm waterproof out of his own pocket,” adding that it lifted everyone’s spirits in a big way.

It stands as a wonderful example of a major star genuinely caring for the people working behind the scenes.
