This lovely Antique Turkmen Yomud Okbash is from Turkmenistan in Central Asia, East of the Caspian sea. Okbash or Ok-bash is a traditional woven Bag in pile knotted technique made in pairs. These ceremonial pieces were used during migration to protect the pointed ends of the wooden struts for the yurt. Antique Yomud Okbash pieces are highly collectible and prized as Tribal Woven Art. Beautiful all natural colors. Washed and secured all around the perimeter.

This Beautiful and Fine Antique Caucasian Kilim is from Shirvan region of Northeastern Caucasus.
Nice deep saturated all natural colors and very fine weave.
Overall good condition with some thin areas, signs of age and wear.
19th century – circa 1850-60.
