MENU DROP: seven of cups sourdough! Just what a person needs in times when there is great uncertainty and emotions may feel all over the place. this feels especially after right now, as the world is trying to decide how to handle the continuing COVID-19 situation. There’s a push to return to normal life but there’s also confusion, hesitancy, and some fear. It can be hard to feel certainty about what is the correct action and choices. And this card we see that Each cup holds something different. Some cups have poison and some cups of jewels or treasure. With so many choices discernment becomes increasingly important. That in mind I feel that the tarot deck this week is suggesting a good simple nourishing choice.

The bread this week is a sourdough ciabatta with a sea salt and garlic crust.

MENU DROP: this weeks sourdough is the four of cups. The image brings to mind a feeling perhaps of boredom or perhaps of reassessment, a need to go inward and examine empty feelings that may be arising.
it could be easy at times like this to feel dejected and do not notice all the good witch is around you. But four is also associated with foundations, indicating this might be a good time to look at what foundations are you setting up for your future self. The cups are associated things with emotions. But emotions are rising that need some attention and tenderness? The other good news is that times like this we know the feeling of boredom or unhappiness or weariness will not last and that just the other side of this pool in which were currently immersed is a new way of doing things. We may be emerging and releasing and letting go of old patterns that do not sustain us. Sometimes it’s just a natural rhythm that we need to go in words before we can come out into the world again. It occurs to me that at this time when most of the world is figuring out how safe is it to come out and see each other again as the pandemic evolves and changes that this is a natural place to find ourselves. As a result the bread this week will be very simple and nurturing that kind of comfort food foundation that feels so good in times of uncertainty. Simple sourdough loaf with Maldon sea salt crust. I recommend it toasted with a good amount of your favorite butter, perhaps with a cup of tea, and a quiet moment with a good book and a warm blanket.

this weeks pick up will be Saturday 5-6pm. 1839 S. Halsted St. $20 a loaf via Venmo, PayPal, or quick pay.
