Decided to do something that’s long overdue

Something that’s not talked about in the South Asian community, specifically with men, is the lack of self care. Too often we shy away from prioritizing our mental health because of the perception/stigmas that come along with it.

For Punjabi/Sikh’s, our hair is unshorn (never cut) and the source of our physical/mental/spiritual strength. We take pride in our gift bestowed upon us, but never put ourselves in a position to properly manage it other than basic maintenance, leading to dry, thinning flaky hair that falls out at an exponential rate.

For my brothers who have thought about getting their hair washed, conditioned and properly oiled, DO IT. You DESERVE IT. Know that you aren’t lesser of a person by prioritizing your overall health.
