While I doubt it will find anyone this post has not already reached, I wanted to share my public post about an UNSAFE PERSON in the Chicago Photography, Cosplay, and Convention communities. Feel free to read it or don't but please know that I am 100% serious when I state that I cannot associate or work with anyone who continues to associate with this man. His statements after he was outed have continued to show that the ONLY person he cares about is HIMSELF and he will continue lying or omitting the truth.

Today's garden harvest. Two kinds of basil, 3 kinds of mint, 2 kinds of chives, the last of the garlic, beets, our first green zebra tomato, green onions, an insane amount of catnip, an even more insane amount of garden sage and white sage! The giant pile of greens includes red lettuce, 2 kinds of kale, 2 kinds of swiss chard, collards, and some broccoli greens. After the drought conditions we were having, all this rain the past few days has created some abundance! And yes I decided to use my size 6.5 (US) for scale.

My shop is currently on hiatus as I am re-evaluating what I want to do moving forward. (You can still find my stuff over at though!) That doesn't mean I haven't been busy. I am going to spend the next few days showing you some of the things this dance educator and herbalist has been doing. First up? My preparation for the heart of cold and flu season: elderberry syrup, herb infused hot and sour soup (that I freeze in batches to thaw when needed), and fire cider! Most of the bottles of syrup went to loved ones (but I did keep one for us) but the soup and fire cider are alllll for meeeeee. I have already been making use of my syrup and soup as I am currently battling an obnoxious sinus infection from the constant temp and pressure changes here in the Midwest. Stay tuned to see what else I have up my sleeve!

Some love for my fluffball baby boy Gandalf would be appreciated. I have been less active because I am busy making things but the last week has been a nightmare. This poor baby spent Tuesday-Friday in critical care in the hospital. While he seems to be improving everyday, we have a very long road to recovery. This has been a hard lesson for my husband and I that it seems we need to advocate and fight just as much for our pets as we do for me with doctors to get good care. I promise I will have some great updates soon but for now just a little Gandalf photo will need to do.

Not herb or business related but I am too excited not to share with y'all. I went to my first session for Ballerina Bunnies forearm piece today and I am already in love. The next session will be for color and yes, I am doing this in FULL COLOR with rainbows and all. As a dancer and dance educator who was also a child of the 90s my heart is very happy right now.
Who is Rose Anna?
RoseAnna was started because of Allison's love for making handmade items. Every year she have done what she likes to call a Homemade Christmas for her friends and family. They often request more of something given. She also make things for the folks She loves just because she loves them. At many a request and urging, Allison decided to move forward with creating a space to share her wares with the populace at large. Enter Rose Anna.
There are so many options for people to choose from when it comes to bath bombs and other natural products for self care so why bother right? Because love, support, care, and healing are the name of the game in this small part of the world. Rose Anna products are all made with sustainably sourced, organic (as much as humanly possible) materials with no artificial additives or colors. All of our raw materials are sourced from small family owned businesses and/or local shops as well because supporting small businesses and individuals is so important in a world that is growing ever more corporate. Allison also uses plants that she, her husband, and her Mother grow in their own gardens whenever they are available.
Over the years Allison has struggled with many health and skin issues as well as injuries from her everyday life as a dancer and dance educator. This is what actually started her own self care journey into the holistic and natural as she was in constant pain, and her health issues began to take over her life. She needed to learn new ways to help herself. After multiple years of self-studying herbs and essential oils, Allison has been taking a more formal approach to her education and will have over 450 completed hours of coursework in herbal studies and aromatherapy as a start. She is passionate about about everything she does and helping other brings her great joy.
Why the name Rose Anna? It is an homage to her maternal grandmother. Her name was Anna Rose and she was always a driving force and inspiration for Allison. She was fiercely independent, intelligent, and the backbone of the family. She is the one who always taught Allison that you can be kind and compassionate and still not take anyone's silly nonsense. After all, she taught Allison the phrase "Might comes in small packages." and she has never forgotten what that meant. She hopes that she is making the family matriarch proud wherever her spirit has settled.
