🌷🔬 The Larks are becoming little scientists as they explore the wonders of spring!

This season, we are learning about the exciting changes happening in the world around us—from sunshine, rain, and clouds to the way plants begin to grow and awaken after winter. The children will observe flowers starting to bloom and engage in hands-on activities, like creating their own raindrops, as they discover the beauty of the season.

Through these experiences, the Larks are practicing how to care for plants and learning what they need to grow, all while using their senses to observe, explore, and talk about the natural world around them.

Spring is a season of growth, discovery, and new beginnings, and the Larks are so excited to explore it together! 🌼💧🌱

Our Bluebirds dove into a colorful literary adventure today inspired by One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss! 📚🐟

After reading together and exploring the bright fish in the story, our little learners discovered their own red and blue fish made with paper and craft sticks—an engaging way to begin recognizing early color concepts. The fun continued with a hands-on painting activity using blue paint and cotton balls, where friends enjoyed the sensory experience of texture and movement while strengthening their fine motor skills.

Moments like these blend storytelling, sensory exploration, and early art experiences—helping our youngest friends build connections through color, creativity, and play. ❤️💙🎨

🎨 Watercolor Wonders in the Mockingbirds Classroom! 💧🌈

Our Mockingbirds have been busy exploring the magic of watercolor painting this week! With a splash of water and a brush full of color, the children discovered how dried paint comes back to life and transforms into beautiful, flowing colors.

We loved watching their curiosity grow as they experimented with mixing colors, noticing how new shades appear right before their eyes. Moments like these turn simple painting into a little science experiment and a lot of creative fun!

Beyond creativity, watercolor painting also helps strengthen fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and focus as little artists carefully guide their brushes across the paper.

At Songbird, we believe art is more than just a finished painting—it’s about the process of exploring, discovering, and expressing ideas. And our Mockingbirds did just that! 🖌️✨
