💌 on your first day of school,

First smile.

First steps.

First boo-boo.

First “I love you Mommy”.

So many firsts as I’ve watched you grow.

Every one of them full of pure pride and amazement.

Every one of them making me wish I could hit pause and stay that way forever.

But no first has made me want to stop time more than waving goodbye to you on your first day of school.

Not a single tear, no fear, and an absolute thirst for everything this new experience will bring. You are so brave and so confident, and so much more ready for this chapter than your momma.

I wish you could stay little forever, but watching you grow into such a strong, smart, brave, and confident little man is the greatest experience of my life.

I love you dude, more than you will ever know. I’m so proud of who you are growing up to be, you impress me everyday with just how incredible you are.

But maybe, just for a little, can you stop growing up so fast?

Congratulations on your first day of big school, I can’t wait to hear all about your first day of this new adventure, and every day after.

New gym, who dis?

A few years ago, a mentor inspired me with a little history lesson.

In the early 16th century, Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés led an expedition to conquer the Aztec Empire in Mexico.

Upon landing in Veracruz, Cortés burnt his ships, signaling to his men that there was no turning back, motivating them to be fully committed to their mission.

This GIGANTIC bet on themselves resulted in the successful Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire.

They conquered the unknown with no safety net, no back up plan, just pure self-belief and determination.

Recently, I’ve decided to burn all of my boats and place the biggest bet on myself to date.

A family to feed and a roof to pay for is enough reason to play it safe.

But it’s also the greatest motivator to succeed.

I’ve quit the comforts of a reliable paycheque and have thrown myself completely into my own business.

The ships have been torched, there is no turning back now.

Nothing to do now but conquer my new world. 💪🏼🔥⛵️

I will miss my family, but the friendship I made will last a lifetime no matter what.
