Summary

Urban GIS, Inc. is looking to hire several GIS Field Technicians for an on-going project with a utility company. This position will be in the field include gathering audit data on light poles in the greater Chicagoland area and Northern Illinois. We are qualified candidates who are passionate about doing great work, detail oriented, willing to learn, comfortable working with technology, who possess a positive attitude, and who enjoy working in the field.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Uses smart phone/tablet to report position and record data in company software.
• Work with auditing team
• Responsible for field survey data
• Responsible for all safety equipment
• Creates audit notes in software
• You will be heading out to various townships or cities to conduct data collection

Desired Qualifications:

• Entry Level
• Must have a valid license and personal vehicle.
• Must have working smart device with cellular/wi-fi connectivity.
• Proficient with Excel and iPad.
• Extreme attention to detail
• Ability to complete projects thoroughly and with a sense of ownership.
• Ability to move at a quick pace and work despite interruptions.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn about our company.
• Comfortable working with technology
• Strong Communication Skills
• Field work experience and/or Mapping/GIS experience

Urban GIS will provide mileage reimbursement, training, and the potential for future opportunities within the company. We may also provide credits for school internships through this opportunity.

Position Type: Contract position. Work hours may have some level of flexibility during daytime hours and can be negotiated starting at part time up to full time.
Availability: Can Start Immediately
Work Location: Chicagoland Area
Work Conditions: 100% Outdoor/Remote
