Our Story
Slippin Jimmy knows what it takes to turn house heads onto darker styles of techno. After playing a role in expanding the Bloomington, Indiana scene, the DJ has carved out a niche in Chicago affording him opportunities far and wide.
He hasn’t sacrificed quality to reach a wider audience. His happy, upbeat and positive energy draws in passive fans, but his selections still hold the attention of any diehard. His work as one of the core members of Chicago promoter MTM Productions has further elevated his career, landing him gigs at festivals like Dirtybird Campout and My House Music Festival.
Slippin Jimmy’s own history in the Windy City dates all the way back to his birth. Born Evan Longhi, he relocated with his family to Northwest Indiana as a child. Having played the drums since he was only two years old, his origins as a percussionist suited him well when he took up disc jockeying later on.
As he came of age he took trips to Chicago to visit his cousin, who first introduced him to underground dance music. Sneaking into mainstays like Smartbar and Spybar exposed him to sophisticated sounds that would eventually form the foundation of his musical aesthetic. It only made sense that he would go on to include performances at such clubs in his résumé later in life.
