Our first kayaking cleanup of the year is open for registration! We'll be cleaning the North Branch of the Chicago River, including the bend at Diversey, which is a notorious collection point for river litter.
As we have a limited amount of spaces available for kayaking cleanups because they require kayak rentals, we are limiting this cleanup’s registration to members only (aka, anyone receiving our newsletter emails) until June 10th. After that, we will open it up to guests of members. Please do not share this link with friends until after that date! https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1990363510840?aff=oddtdtcreator

The summer's getting hot, but our June lineup is EVEN HOTTER! Get ready to clean up the city, see some new neighborhoods, and make some new friends, because we'll be all over the place! We're also doing some events on weekdays, now that the days are getting longer and we have more light. The first three cleanups have already been announced and you can sign up for them on Cleanup Club's Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/o/cleanup-club-chicago-46599457703
The last three cleanups will be open for registration soon. Stay tuned! And if there's a "Members Only" Cleanup that you'd like to join, all you have to do is join through the form on our website, cleanupclubchicago.org !
We caught up with some volunteers at My Chicago River Day to ask them a few questions about their experience. Enjoy!

Thanks to our awesome Captain, Seemi, we're headed to the South Loop's Roosevelt CTA station in June! Special thanks to BAL for choosing us as their partner for a community cleanup last week! Their staff collected roughly 10 bags of trash and recyclables from Hubbard Street in the West Loop, and we had a great time chatting about immigration law and public trash bins. You all are amazing and we appreciate your community contributions!
If your company or organization is looking to do a private cleanup event, please reach out to us at [email protected]!

We have received a generous gift from Jack Johnson's foundation, All At Once, for two tickets to his upcoming show at Northerly Island on Saturday, July 11th! We are auctioning them off to raise funds for our organization, and All At Once will be matching the donation from the winner, so your contribution will go twice as far! The two tickets are valued at $122 each with taxes and fees, bringing the total value to $244. We are hoping to raise more than that to cover our costs for our environmental education events and cleanups this year. We are currently in need of funds for litter grabbers, a larger storage unit, marketing materials, transportation costs, and more! The bidding is open from May 15th - 31st, and bids can be made through our Givebutter link: https://givebutter.com/.../jack-johnson-concert.../auction
Thanks for supporting our cause. 🌏💚 If you would just like to donate to us without bidding on tickets, please visit our regular donation portal: https://give.ilenviro.org/a/chicagoenvironmentalists
