The perfect place to read a book 🏖️

I devoured Mexican Gothic in just a few days (which is light speed for me) and let me just say: WTF. I was transported to Moreno-Garcia’s dark and sinister world of High Place, so much so that I felt like the setting itself was alive. The highlight of this book is absolutely the writing. But Mexican Gothic is truly disturbing in a way I did not expect and in a way where I couldn’t look away. In true gothic novel fashion, my stomach had a pit in it while reading. It’s a good read for those looking to get into the spooky fall spirit. Tell me in the poll if you’re ready for fall!

The Amalfi Curse by Sarah Penner is my latest summer read, and I absolutely adored it! I loved the dual storytelling of both the modern day and the nineteenth century. A beautiful setting, a touching romance, and a bit of mystery and magic made this a 5/5 stars for me.
