MAXWELL STREET BLUES REVIVALĀ® LIVE: Chicago Slim & Friends Doing Their Maxwell Street Thang . . Maxwell Street may be a long-lost memory, but to many it was a place where we learned about Chicago Blues music. Every weekend, our senses were immersed with amazing sights (open-air flea market), sounds (myriad live blues, gospel and R&B ensembles) and smells (Jim's Polish and pork chops). So, it was a no-brainer that when we began doing "acoustic" Mojo sets Guy's Legends, we decided to showcase songs and stories from the Maxwell Street era (Blind Arvella Gray, Robert Nighthawk, Carrie Robinson & Little Pat Rushing are my benchmarks). Getting to channel that energy live is always a spiritual experience. Doing it with long-standing friends (Anji Brooks, Lynne Jordan and South Side Stevie) makes it all the more memorable. A huge THANK YOU to Buddy Guy, Mark Maddox and the entire Legends crew for their continued support. We'll be back for another amazing night of great music and fun times at Legends on Saturday, March 14 . . Stay tuned for more info!

MAXWELL STREET BLUES: Cheat You Fair Is How We Do It . . Where would Chicagoans be without a Maxwell Street Polish? Jim's Original is the longest continuously operating hot dog stand on Maxwell Street. If we have to explain it to you, you'll never understand (so just get there and order)!
