Paris/London Tips

We barely scratched the surface of both London and Paris. I definitely underestimated how hard the time change would be. A rest day, or even a scheduled morning to sleep in would have been a good idea.

Things we learned:
-Book tickets EARLY. I’ve been working on this trip for about 8-9 months and still some things sold out before I could purchase tickets.

-We used Uber to get around, but once we saw how fast and affordable the train was, I regretted using Uber so much.

-In Paris, We stayed right next to the train station, which made transfer to Disney super easy (see the post about Disney tips)

-Plan a full day for Palace of Versailles. It’s quite far from the city, and there is so much to see. Bring snacks and drinks with you, because options are limited there. I had planned to do The Catacombs the evening of the same day, but couldn’t get tickets- and am so glad I couldn’t! It was a long day.

-Rent a golf cart at Palace of Versailles to see the gardens, restaurants, and to get to the Queen’s Hamlet. There is a short walk to that, but it was worth it.

-Do a private Seine River Cruise. It was more pricey than the large boats, but honestly it was the best way to see the sights and avoid the crowds.

-Be prepared for crowds of people. So many people. This was really stressful for me, and made it hard for me personally to enjoy a lot of the things we did. The earlier you can start the day, the better.

-Plan for extra time to get everywhere in both cities. Things are all pretty close together, but with traffic, traveling takes forever!

Disney Paris Tips
Part 1

-Disneyland Paris felt similar to California, and while we loved it, it’s our 3rd favorite Disney Park so far.

-The smaller size makes it really easy to navigate in a just a couple days.

-One major difference is when you book a Disney hotel, you get entrance to the parks each night that you have booked- you don’t have to buy separate tickets. Since we arrived mid day, we were able to go straight into the park and get our bearings before our first full day. Also, both parks are included and close so you can go back and forth easily.

-For fast passes, they offer a premier access pass. We opted to do this only one day which worked out perfect. We were able to ride all the most popular rides with essentially no wait in both parks. Simply scan your pass, one time for each included ride, and walk right to the front-no scheduled queue.

-Staying on property gets you an extra magic hour before other guests enter the parks-and we didn’t even use this-both because we were too tired, but we also didn’t really need it.

-if you are traveling from Paris to the parks, you can take the RER train line (about 25-30 minute ride). With the express baggage option, you can drop your bags right at the train station and go directly into the parks. Disney will deliver your bags to your room and text you with your room number. It was SO easy!
