Fun fact. It’s better to be cut by a sharp blade than dull. A quicker heal time lets you practice more often, eventually leading to no cuts at all. 😁

MYTH:

“If my shears still cut, they don’t need sharpening.”

TRUTH:

If your shears are pushing, folding, snagging, or forcing you to work harder, they’re already dull — even if they technically still cut.

Dull tools:
✖️ Slow you down
✖️ Destroy your finish
✖️ Cause hand fatigue
✖️ Can pull hair (and skin 😬)

Sharp tools should slice effortlessly, not fight you.

💡 Pro tip: If you’re adjusting tension constantly or “muscling through” your cuts, it’s time to sharpen — not replace.
