Lar’s Sausage Gravy
1. In a skillet cook 1 pound or roll of breakfast sausage. We like Bob Evans hot. Add some garlic powder to the sausage as it cooks. Just measure with your heart.
2. After the sausage is almost completely cooked through add a half a stick of butter and melt.
3. Then in the skillet, put 4 to 6 tablespoons of flour. The Kentucky Colonel season flour is our favorite.
4. After the flour starts to smell toasted, about 2 to 3 minutes add 3 to 4 cups of milk. Whole milk is best.
5. Add one to 2 tablespoons of marjoram, if you don’t have that, you can add parsley.
6. Cover and let all the flavors marry together, no higher than a simmer though. Once the milk is thickened up and the gravy is at the thickness you like add some seasoning salt.
7. Taste test to make sure your seasonings are right and then serve!
