🚩 Exhaust + Suit = No Bueno

Rider was okay and in good spirits despite his leg getting a little toasty in a minor dust up 😬. Was able to extract the melted section and stitch in some new Kevlar and a leg zipper while I was trackside to get him back out in his own suit the next morning. 💪

I don’t know why, (maybe I’m just a glutton for the punishment of tedious work) but there’s a certain kind of gratification that comes with restoring flags on suits. As a general rule, they tend to mean a lot to the people who choose to wear them. Whatever the color(s) may be, it’s always an honor to get them cleaned up.

“Less is more. ”, “A little goes a long way.”, “Keep it simple stupid.” and so on, you get the point. This get up was loud, like volume level 100 - and now it’s a subtle level 20. Pizazz but with class, you feel me?

Also, this is your friendly reminder that iron on patches may seem like they’ll hold initially, but give it a couple runs around the track and they’re guaranteed to be hanging on by a hope and a prayer (just like those last minute zip tied parts on your bike 🥴). Get ‘em stitched on if you want to keep them!

It’s pretty common for adults to “outgrow” their leathers… 🫣 but every once in a while I meet someone who stayed committed and smashed their weight loss goals. 💪
