Join us for Social Justice and Me!
These interactive sessions engage participants to begin to explore the questions: Who Am I? and Who Am I as a Social Justice Being? You will discover how your lived experiences shape who we are and what you believe. You will explore your consciousness about race, identity, and social justice constructs and how this informs/impacts how you show up in your life...You will leave with a written legacy or an artistic representation to share with the future and you will have contributed to uniting the divisions in our communities."
Please take this opportunity, not only to honor yourselves and your journey, but also to join us as we honor Black History Month (and learn how to honor it year round).

I am a member of an organization called DIVAS-Distinguished, Intellectual, Virtuous, Academic, Sistas-was formed in 2009 to address the unique concerns facing Black Female PhD students. The DIVAS collective has allowed Black women doctoral students and professionals to “stand in the gap” and become the "othermother" (Guiffrida, 2005) for Black women during their PhD process. As DIVAS we understand that the experiences of Black women in academia are very complex and we do all we can to support their successful completion.
