When life gets chaotic, our first instinct is often to run, hide, or panic. Even David’s friends told him in Psalm 11 to "flee like a bird to your mountain" because the foundations were destroying themselves.
Stop running. God is still on the throne 👑.
But look at David’s response: "In the Lord I take refuge."
He reminds us that when the world below feels completely unstable, our gaze shouldn't be fixed on the chaos—it should be fixed on the one who rules over it. Verse 4 says, "The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord’s throne is in heaven."
God isn't pacing the floors of heaven worrying about your situation. He is still on the throne. Your foundations aren't built on your circumstances; they are built on Him.

From the Pit to the Peak
In Psalm 18:1–20, David is in the fight of his life. He describes the ropes of death tightening around him. But look what happens when he cries out to God:
The earth shakes. The heavens part. God descends in power, reaches down from on high, and pulls him out of deep waters. 🌊
He didn’t just rescue David because He had to—the Bible says He rescued him because He delighted in him (v. 19).
Whatever is trying to swallow you up today—anxiety, fear, a situation that feels impossible—remember who your Rock is. You are not fighting alone, and the Rescuer is already on His way. 🛡️✨
