Unity

I stand alone I am an island
I have desires and I've been eyeing
Levels to which I intend to rise
Make the American dream my prize
I want the inherent promise, not lies
Let my pay show you recognize
That yes, I am like the next man
Yet, without us nothing can
Truly be brought to fruition
Produce and survive that's the mission
I do my part yet seems as if forgetting
There's art in servicing a transmission
Streets and parks a honored commission
That JFS, for some, has become tradition
From recipient to worker, receiving to giving
To provide for your family is truly living
Yet there are those who love being high
Looking down on essential workers like why
Can't "they" just work and not complain
Ignoring sacrifices "they" make in their name
ZDaily for more than forty years of their lives
They come together amidst cries of unionize
Many voices join becoming a deafening cry
The status quo cannot contain, don't try
We stand together, now, so, it won't be long
We know you see it, we are union strong
