Following a ten-year physics teaching career in public and private high schools in Connecticut and Ohio, I began tutoring in 2014. My courses included Conceptual, Regular, Honors, and AP Physics B (now 1 and 2), as well freshman physical science as inclusion and regular education classes. I’ve tutored privately both in person and online, and I worked for two years as an online tutor with Tutor.com, ending in 2016. Since 2015, I’ve tutored online with PrepNow, a nationwide leader in one-on-one tutoring; in that time, my skill set has expanded to include AP Physics C: Mechanics and Electricity & Magnetism, algebra- and calculus-based introductory college physics, and SAT Physics Subject Test preparation.

I hold a B.S. in Astronomy & Physics from Yale University and completed the Yale Teacher Preparation Program. I also earned my M.N.S. in Physics from Arizona State University in a program which focused on a research-supported highly effective method for teaching physics called Modeling Instruction, which I employed for the last six years of my teaching career. In 2008 I was accepted as a University of Connecticut Early College Experience Program Instructor, which gave my AP students the opportunity to earn dual credit because the UCONN Department of Physics evaluated my course to be equivalent to their intro course sequence. In 2010 I was selected to attend the National Science Foundation Summer Institute for Physics Teachers, held with the University of Washington Physics Education Research Group.
