Safe Landing Horse Rescue

Yesterday we welcomed back in to the rescue these two geldings, Hennessy and Ducati (Wannabe Ducati), through no fault of their own, the previous adopter was having to downsize and followed our contract by returning them to the rescue. They both need some maintenance things caught up on, but then will be available. We will post more later on each one of them with more info.

Been working with the new mom and baby today. It went very well, especially for the filly as she actually came up to sniff on our friend Vicky’s hand! I got those nasty knots out of mommas mane and being close to her calm, I could actually see how skinny she truly is. Stay tuned for more updates! I’m hoping to have them feeling better and realizing people are pretty awesome instead of them both being scared to death ❤️

Went and got the mare and her filly picked up today. She is definitely unhandled. I worked with her for about thirty minutes and finally got a halter on her. She’s very apparently never had one on. Then it was the filly’s turn to get one, that didn’t go as smoothly but I think she will come around quickly. I will work with them both daily and hopefully we will be leading soon enough! Momma is pretty skinny, but should come around quickly. Once she’s a little more handled we will get her teeth done and I’m sure that will help as well.
I want to thank Terolyn Horse Rescue, inc. for getting them safe from auction and Jasmine for picking them up and taking care of them til I could get there.

We will be thinking of names for them, but haven’t named them yet
