🩳 Brandon’s CFS Drifter Lined Short, Hylas Hooded Pullover (UPF 50+) and Lucent Tee crushed it during this hike.
👕 My gear is on the way. I ordered the Hooded Anorak (UPF 50+), Bounder Lined Short, Divide Tee and Drifter Shorts.

🌷300,00 tulips all in one place!

📌 Before we dive in, don’t forget to hit the follow button Find Your Somewhere for daily vacation inspiration.

I have always wanted to go to a tulip festival. I finally had the chance to travel to one last year with my mom.

And it was absolutely amazing.

Thanks to Travel Iowa for hosting us. Here are the deets below, and please feel free to ask questions.

🌷Tulip Time Festival
🌷Pella, Iowa

The small town of Pella is such a gem. Dutch immigrants came to Iowa from the Netherlands in the 1800s. And now Pella is considered Iowa’s oldest Dutch-American community.

It’s home to the tallest working grain windmill in the U.S., a historical Dutch village and bakeries serving up Dutch treats (try the Dutch letters).

🏨 Lodging: Hotels in Pella fill up fast. We stayed in Des Moines at Surety Hotel about an hour away. Staying here also made it easy to hop over to Winterset where we checked out a covered bridge and spent time with alpacas.

💰Cost: It’s FREE

📆 When: This decades-old tradition happens every May

🥖 Food: Everything we ate in Pella was delicious. We especially loved Jaarsma Bakery, The Bread Board and the Windmill Cafe

🚗 Parking: Get there early. You can find street parking for free. Calvary Church offers free parking and shuttle. Other lots range from $5 to $20 and many offer shuttles.
