Award-winning journalist and documentary filmmaker telling 719’s stories!

07/10/2026

A lot of people over the past 3 years have asked me what my next documentary film will be.

Today I can proudly announce that my next documentary short, titled “LOLO”, will premiere on my news station’s FREE streaming app FOX21+ on Saturday July 18, 2026 at 7 PM MDT.

LOLO follows the Woods family as their daughter Lucy lives with a rare brain disorder called Hemimegalencephaly, where one side of the brain grows larger than the other… ultimately causing medicine-resistant seizures that threatened her livelihood every day. In January 2024, Lucy had a surgery to detach the hemispheres of her brain to attempt to eliminate these seizures. This documentary follows her recovery from that surgery.

I want to thank my news family at FOX21 News for giving me the opportunity to pursue this story over the past nearly 3 years. I went to the University of Missouri’s prestigious Jonathan B. Murray Center for Documentary Journalism just wanting to tell people’s stories in an in-depth and respectful manner. While many of my classmates have become filmmakers, freelancers, or are working for big companies producing documentary specials, I wanted to keep the journalism part of “documentary journalism” in tact with my career. I came onto the team as a photographer, and I have become more than just “a photographer”. I am a documentarian.

I was brought into this world to change it. This is step 1 in revolutionizing the TV news industry into breathtaking, long-form documentary journalism. While this is just one story, it’s the start of a movement.

Thank you for supporting me in my journey as a journalist, as a documentary filmmaker, and as a person overall.

My anniversary with FOX21 is next month. I’m excited to create more documentary journalism with them and continue in my pursuit of excellent storytelling.

My first time doing basketball highlights for FOX21! I don’t think I did too shabby! Caught a thriller OT game which was so cool to witness and document. Basketball is a much faster game than football so I had to be selective knowing when to cut and move on to the next highlight clip. It was a fun learning opportunity!
