This week in GEAR we made Oreo truffles (strawberry and chocolate!), had a Friendship party with minute to win it games, and a conversation about effective communication with lots of fun role play.

GEAR Gardens was so pleased to have received a grant through Sustainable Agriculture Research & Education program! Shane & Ruthie went to a two-day hydroponic training CropKing, Inc. They learned so much info & have used that knowledge to teach the GEAR interns how to grow hydroponically in the GEAR classroom! Stay turned for GEAR’s journey into hydroponics!

GEAR has been very busy this last quarter! Students participated in COTA training, learned how to podcast, and made GEAR Gourdgeous Soap Scrubbers. The loofah gourds were grown in the GLHS courtyard by the garden club! ~video credit Denise Helbig
Our GEAR interns had an awesome community outing to Creekside! We worked on team building, creating healthy habits & social skills while enjoying the beautiful weather.
