Hey Basset Hound fans! We have an update - Otis had 1 ruptured disc, he did well in surgery and the prognosis is looking good for him. He is also recovering from a really bad infection that may have spread to his prostate. He's resting now; Medvet has been great to keep BBHR updated! THANK YOU to those who donated! Otis could still use some help, as we are still unsure of the final bill.

Hey Basset lovers! Meet Otis - a 4 year old boy relinquished to Buckeye Basset Rescue! We've got a long, expensive road ahead with Otis, but we think he's worth it!! He’s not able to fully use his back legs, his previous owner could not afford what Medvet was going to charge so they opted for pain management and relinquished him to us. Medvet has determined Otis has other issues: a UTI from sitting so much, then he started vomiting a couple days ago and would not eat. He is running a fever, the vet is waiting on tests. Let's be honest - he may need back surgery, and with all the testing that needs done to determine what we need to do for Otis, we are looking at a VERY hefty vet bill!
