And that’s a wrap on the inaugural AWARE Ohio Youth Advisory Board! 🎉🌟

Over the past year, 17 Asian American student leaders from across Northwest Ohio came together for monthly meetings to provide feedback on AWARE Ohio’s programming and outreach, learn about key issues impacting Asian American communities, discuss college/career planning, and build meaningful connections with one another.

We celebrated our final meeting with a game of Family Feud, cake, and milk tea 🍰🧋

We’re grateful to each of these students for their participation, and we look forward to continuing the program next year!

Thank you to everyone who attended Voices from Toledo’s Asian American Community this past Saturday! We were excited to welcome more than 60 attendees to hear local Asian American community leaders share about their experiences living in Toledo.

Our speakers represented different generations and ethnic backgrounds and they reflected on their experiences growing up in Toledo or migrating to (and sometimes back to) the city, the importance of Asian American representation, and the ways they have built community and provided leadership throughout our region. Attendees also enjoyed free tiramisu, mango mousse cake, milk tea, and aloe vera juice!

We hope to host a similar event next year for AAPI Heritage Month, and we look forward to seeing you all again! 💙💫
