One of the things that changed my life was empathy. Empathy for others who I ignored as less than. People who I was afraid of, I didn’t want to be the Good Samaritan to, people who I thought were disrespectful to me on purpose.

Carrying a firearm on my person gave me the opportunity to look deeper, at others and myself. If I was afraid to help because I was afraid of being taken advantage of… I would take a second look and in some cases it was worth the chance. I stopped drinking because of the state requirements to carry with 0 BAC. And so many other things that may or may not be influenced by the move to start taking things more seriously.

It’s not an epiphany for everyone, but it shouldn’t be taken lightly. It is a responsibility that comes with good and bad attributes.
