At YMe Mobility Assistance, we know accessibility is more than a feature. It’s the ability to get to school. To make it to medical appointments. To show up at work. To participate in family life. To move through the world safely, independently, and with dignity.

Every day, we work to bridge the gap where traditional funding falls short, helping children and veterans access adaptive mobility solutions that create opportunity and open doors.

Today, we celebrate mothers with disabilities who continue to show up with strength, creativity, resilience, and love, even in a world that is not always built with accessibility in mind.

We also honor the mothers and caregivers raising children with disabilities, navigating systems, advocating fiercely, and creating spaces where their children can thrive.

At YME Mobility Assistance, we know that mobility is more than transportation, it’s freedom, connection, opportunity, and the ability to care for the people you love.

To every mom rolling forward through challenges, breaking barriers, and making a way for your family every single day: we see you, we celebrate you, and we thank you. 💛

Today is National Barrier Awareness Day, which is all about recognizing and fighting against the barriers people with disabilities face.

We proudly work with NCART - National Coalition for Assistive and Rehab Technology to establish and maintain appropriate coverage and funding to protect and improve access to complex rehab technology.

Today, on National Barrier Awareness Day, I reflect on a journey that began on May 7, 1986, when I founded the National Barrier Awareness Foundation and continues today through Becoming rentABLE.

For nearly 40 years, I have advocated for removing architectural, communicative, and attitudinal barriers that prevent people with disabilities from fully participating in society.

That advocacy now continues through Becoming rentABLE, where we are working to expand access to short-term rentals, raise awareness, and help make travel more inclusive for everyone.

Together, we can create a world where inclusion and accessibility are expected, not exceptional.
