Our first crew of CoServ linemen wraps up their time in Tuba City today, packing up and traveling to Window Rock to hand off trucks and equipment to the second crew, who will continue the work next week.
Yesterday marked their final full day on the job—and it looked a lot like the days before it. In red, rocky terrain, they pushed through stubborn layers of earth to drill holes and set poles, bringing power one step closer to those going without.
That work led them right into Gloria’s backyard. She greeted the crew with excitement, watching closely as progress unfolded just feet from her home. Inside, her son stood at the window, eager and curious. While this first crew laid the groundwork, it will likely be next week’s team who completes the connection and powers their home.
The workday wrapped up around 3 p.m., giving the crew time to prepare for a special evening—an appreciation dinner hosted by the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority (NTUA) at their Tuba City office.
The room was filled with gratitude and community. Tables featured handmade Navajo jewelry, fresh homemade salsa, and generous helpings of traditional food. Linemen shared the evening with NTUA employees, Navajo residents, and their families—all coming together to celebrate the progress made and the partnerships behind it.
The night ended on a joyful note, with linemen and locals forming a small circle for a short, traditional pow-wow dance. What began with a little hesitation quickly turned into laughter, smiles, and even hand-holding—an unforgettable moment of connection.
We’ll continue sharing updates as our second crew begins work next week. While our Communications team will be busy supporting the Annual Meeting back home, we’ll still bring you moments from the field as this important work continues.
Day 4 in Cameron, Arizona—and this crew is still going strong. 💪
Red dirt, sand, and rocky ground has made for tough conditions, but it didn’t slow them down. Our linemen have moved like a well-oiled machine, focused on one goal: bringing power to homes that have gone without it.
One of the highlights of the day was getting the chance to spend time with the crew and hear their stories. Matt Honea, a power quality troubleman, shared that his teenagers back home have been talking a lot about the trip. He also reflected on what he called the “best meal” they’ve had since arriving in the Navajo Nation—a meal lovingly prepared by a family whose lights were turned on after the crew powered their home. Matt said it took the homeowner three hours to prepare, making the moment even more meaningful.
Today, as they head into their final day, they’re all in—wishing they had more time to help even more families.
Tonight, they’ll be honored at an appreciation dinner hosted by the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority, joined by residents whose homes they’ve helped power.
