Closets are some of the most underutilized square footage in a home, whether it be in the kid's bedrooms, the master, an office closet, the guest closet that can be used partially for storage and partially for when guests are visiting, or even the kitchen pantry. In any case, you should always have a well-designed closet to meet the needs of your spaces. Evolving a closet can:
1. Eliminate the need for additional furniture within a small bedroom which allows for more floorspace, or the ability to add a desk into your child's bedroom or a reading nook in the master.
2. Increase storage space for the home
3. Make sure your master closet holds all your clothes and shoes as to not have to "take over" another closet

In the case of the closets here, we designed them for two kid's rooms. One had bypass doors where two of the doors ran on the same track, so access was limited. He also had a dresser which had more drawer space than he required and was just taking up space in his room. Plus, nowhere to hold all his books, trophies, and tchotchkes. The closet door tracks were changed and enough room was provided for him to have ample clothes and book storage, even as he grows.

The other closet was a small walk-in with sporadic wire shelving. As you can see from the before pictures, not the best use of space. By redesigning and literally using as much square footage as possible, we were able to give her an abundance of storage and eliminate a dresser and large bookshelf that she had in her room. Now she has a desk space, as well as, a more open layout, so she can even practice her gymnastics in her room.
