The time for spring cleaning is almost here again.

Non-perishable and non-hazardous materials will be accepted at multiple sites during Effingham County Free Disposal Day. The event will kick off April 3-4 from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Effingham County Dry Waste & Recycling Center at 100 Recycle Way. Blandford Elementary School, 4650 McCall Road, will also serve as a collection site both days.

The event is open only to residents of Effingham County. Both locations will close once the maximum capacity is reached.

Commercial waste disposal is not allowed. Household garbage, tires, batteries, electronics, paint cans, propane tanks and hazardous waste won’t be accepted.
