It has been a special opportunity to have TJ join me on many visits these past 6 months.

There are definitely some tasks and sessions he needs to stay home for, but others where he brings even greater benefit than just me alone.

I LOVE the idea of intergenerational engagement, and the benefits it brings both parties.

I LOVE witnessing the joy, smiles, and laughter that come about from his presence.

Especially when I work with clients who have difficulty communicating; their communication with him is priceless.

I LOVE the parallel learning that takes place.

He was learning to roll as I was working with a client in rolling in bed. He is working on standing while I work with a client on standing. They bond over their common goals.

I LOVE how he adds an extra layer of motivation.

My client might only want to stand for a minute to talk to me, but may stand for a few minutes when talking to him. They might not want to work on sitting balance and reaching with me, but they will reach outside their base of support to reach for his toes.

Ascend Therapy Services is a mobile outpatient practice. What does that mean? We come to you, and you don’t have to be home bound or qualify for home health services.

There are so many things I love about being mobile:

I LOVE that we practice and work on what really matters. We take practical instances you participate it and work on it in your own environment.

I LOVE that we learn by doing. Want to get on and off your couch easier? We will actually get on and off your couch. Want to be more independent in cooking? We will actually cook in your own kitchen.

I LOVE that we get to see your environment and what you are working with, so we are better able to get a full picture or your strengths and growth areas and adapt the environment as needed.

I LOVE that we are there to witness any barriers so we can break those down and overcome them.

I LOVE the easy access that mobile outpatient brings to people as there are less hoops to jump through to get to therapy and no travel is involved for the client.
