It is truly bittersweet to announce that after nearly 6 years with Cedarhurst serving as the Chief Wellness Officer, I have successfully transitioned back into being the President of OwnLiving, LLC. It has been an absolute honor be a part of leading Cedarhurst’s expansion from 4 communities in Illinois to nearly 70 across 10 states--serving thousands more seniors, families, and team members. While I am incredibly passionate about Cedarhurst’s mission, I needed to follow my own advice—to care for yourself first before being good at caring for others.

I am absolutely thrilled to be back at OwnLiving and eager to continue my work with providers in the senior housing, long term care and healthcare sectors. The mission is simple: to honor and embrace each person’s OWN way of LIVING, improving their overall quality of life. I am thrilled to announce that I will be joining Cedarhurst Living as the Vice President of Organizational Development as of January 1, 2018. Over the past couple years operating OwnLiving, I have been consulting regularly with Cedarhurst Living as they expanded into different states, built new Assisted Living and Memory Care communities from the ground up, and acquired multiple senior living communities. I have grown to love the passionate and dedicated people that both care for the older adults in their communities and manage the operations of an ever-expanding company. In my newly created position, my team and I will be responsible for the development and oversight of organization-wide person-directed care practices and quality initiatives while supporting Cedarhurst communities in elevating each resident’s well-being and overall experience.

As you know, I started up OwnLiving a couple years ago and have been consulting and training for many incredible clients including the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Missouri Chapter, Lifework Transitions, Parc Provence, Missouri League for Nursing, etc. While I am very excited about my new opportunity with Cedarhurst Living, it has been a bittersweet decision to end the work with my other beloved clients. I plan to continue operating OwnLiving with brief, selective non-competing consultations but not accept ongoing contracts until further notice. If you need a referral, I would be happy to make suggestions to other healthcare professionals or organizations.
